Call urgently if
Please contact your midwife, maternity unit or urgent care route immediately if you are worried or if any urgent signs are present.
Your waters have broken and you have not spoken to your maternity team yet, or you are worried about the colour, smell or timing
Bleeding
Baby’s movements are reduced, changed or stopped
Contractions are very frequent, unusually long or feel unmanageable
You are less than 37 weeks and think labour may have started
You feel something is wrong
You cannot keep yourself or someone else safe
Reduced or changed movements
If your baby’s movements are reduced, changed or have stopped, call your midwife or maternity unit immediately. Do not wait until tomorrow. Do not use a home doppler or heartbeat listening app to reassure yourself, as hearing a heartbeat does not always mean your baby is well.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
